Nov 19, 03- Mar 02, 04 On-Site Contractor RockwellFirstPoint Contact::Design of a Next Generation Call Center:
Objective: Analyzing, Reviewing, Developing and Documenting a High Level Requirements Documents for the Purpose of
Creating Marketing/Technical Requirements for a Simulation and Modeling Product. This task included:
· A Quick Survey of the Capability of the existing Call Center (CC)
· A complete requirement planning for the next generation Virtual CC incorporating some new requirements
· Analysis, Design and Implementation of the CC
a. Development of the Use Case diagram
b. Development of the Interaction diagrams
c. Identification of classes and relationships
d. Preparation of Object Class Diagrams
e. Development of the software reusing existing software as much as possible
f. Transformation of Business Strategies to Operational Strategy and then Business Solutions
(Later) Implementation and Testing of the system on a virtual basis without affecting existing business
Four Reports were prepared: Comprehensive High Level Requirement, Business Requirement Report, The Stand Alone
Model(SAM) for Next Generation Call Center at Rockwell, The Real-Time Governor(RTG) for Quality Assurance of the
Next Generation Call Center, all in March 2004
Jan01-May03 SXU, Chicago:: Compensation Review Report(CRR) (Using .NET (Fall’02; For Information Systems,
SXU):
This application designs the Object Oriented Compensation (OOCRR), which managers can use to do compensation
reviews for those Employees who require a compensation report. The user selects a date, which is the starting date of the
report, on a calendar. The application gets access to the databases, gets information and prints the report in an useful form
using Crystal Reports software. The CRR uses an Employee class whose includes HourlyEmployee and SalariedEmployee
objects. Object Oriented Analysis and Design of the entire task were performed. This task included:
· Knowing and applying features of C-Sharp programming language, such as data types including strings, classes and objects
· The Employee Class and CRR application development tasks are first identified
· A problem analysis, Interface design, program design, and design validation have been performed
· Design and implementation of Employee class, Hourly and salary employee objects
· Getting access to databases
· Familiarity with Crystal Reports to prepare and print reports
· Making the CRR available to all managers
Web-Based E-Commerce Shopping System:
(Group Work done for ACM,USA, Spring’03)
A E-Commerce Shopping System for Doe’s Electronics has been analyzed, designed and implemented. This system allows
customers to view products, purchase and get delivered at home or, office. Credit/Debit payments are possible. ProductList
and ProductPrice are upgraded. The tasks included:
1) OOA & D of the E-Commerce Shopping System
2) Identification and design of Objects and Classes using C#
3) Use of web Forms and Toolbox
(Ongoing for John Wiley & Sons):: Internet Database Programming
A Book Chapter with Demos. . This chapter summarizes windows and Internet Database programming techniques using
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET framework. It includes Numerous examples on SQL Database, retrieving, inserting, changing
records in SQL Server, Internet databases have presented. It is hoped when published it will be useful to the community.
Data Modeling, DB Design (Course)
Data modeling using E-R & SO modeling techniques, DB design, Implementation, SQL. Several practical scenarios were
addressed. Students in groups did several projects under my direct supervision:To demonstrate how to move data from MS
Access and excel and almost any other ODBC-complaint data source. Use Northwest plants DB).(The excel Project
consists of creating a new database, import the DB into a DB table in SQL server; It might need upsizing (use upsize wizard)
2. To show how to publish SQL server data on your intranet as static Web pages using the Web Assistant Wizard and Excel
(Use Northwind DB).Needed: SQL Server, Web Assistant Wizard(WAW), Network, Internet explorer 4.0 or, higher, MS
Excel 2000, pubs and Northwind DBs 3. To build a Corporate Intranet with Internet Information Server(IIS).(Setting up MS
IIS and create a simple, human resource intranet and know how to use Active Server Pages (ASPs) to interact with SQL
server) 4. To set up a simple data mart from Single-Source Data 5.Create a Multi-Source Data Mart with Data
Transformation Services. How to store data in different formats (Text, access, excel) and combine them in a single format? 6.
Create a simple e-commerce Web sites that use a SQL server 7 "back end". After you have completed these projects, you
will have all of the knowledge necessary to successfully build a small Data-Driven Web site that can process online credit
card transactions.
